Original Posting (03/15/2020): The first Kobe Bryant sneaker since the death of the Black Mamba has surfaced—the Nike Mamba Fury.
The Mamba Fury remains as the successor of the Mamba Focus model. Both models appear extremely similar in silhouette, but the Fury has a few minor tweaks, however. The tooling appears to remain identical to its predecessor model: a stiff Phylon foam midsole caged at the forefoot, encasing a thin forefoot rectangular Zoom Air bag, as well as the snakeskin inspired outsole design.
The build is where a few minor changes have been made. A snakeskin woven upper remains intact, but this time with a different pattern featured. In addition, the rear now now has a panel of neoprene with a dotted design. Further changes include flywire at the bottom eyelets, a new mesh tongue, a spiked Nike swoosh on the lateral midsole, and a new heel counter design.
Let us know what you think of the upcoming Nike Mamba Fury in the comments below. Keep it locked here for further updates as the shoe will likely be releasing this Spring, for the same $100 retail price as the Mamba Focus. However, due to the passing of Kobe Bryant, the way Nike releases further Kobe Bryant signature footwear may be different from the previous norm. Rest in peace, Black Mamba and Gigi Bryant. 8~24~2.
UPDATE (04/15/2020): The Nike Mamba Fury is now available for under retail for $75 at Academy.com.
