The 2018 Nike Basketball Academy is an all-weekend event in the Los Angeles area of California. Nike invites the best players across the country out to the academy to compete against great competition, including its signature stars, LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, etc. With the academy comes some SICK kicks. If you want to hear about the Nike Basketball ‘Academy’ performance basketball kicks, you’ve come to the right place. Lets get into this.
The LeBron Soldier 12 gets the ‘Academy’ treatment to it. Eyeing a turquoise blue phylon midsole, with some black as well, Nike did justice with this colorway. We have an orange to pink gradient on all of the sneaker’s branding, as well as a black upper and turquoise lining to top it off.
The Kyrie 4 is probably my favorite Nike performance basketball model EVER. But, stay tuned for the Hoops Analysis on them. This colorway is so so to me. There just seems to be too much grey all along the upper, and I think they could have definitely done a better job with this colorway.
KILLER job done by Nike on their end with the PG 2 ‘Academy’. It seems like for each shoe, they incorporated one academy color very broadly. In the PG 2, the hot orange gets this treatment. The orange upper, white midsole, pink/orange gradient, and turquoise gets my approval. Can’t go wrong with this colorway! Click here to view our Nike PG 2 Hoops Analysis.
The Nike KD 11’s overall silhouette was never terribly striking to me. In fact, I don’t really like it, at all. Although, this colorway is my favorite out of all of the Nike Basketball Academy colorways that have surfaced thus far. Translucent midsole, black overlays, subtle turquoise KD logo, and the pink to orange Nike swoosh gradient. To top it off, we have a nice orange upper. Can’t go wrong with this colorway.
That just about takes care of it. We noticed the Kobe A.D. NXT 360, nor did the LeBron 15 get the ‘Academy’ treatment, so stay tuned to OneonOneTesters.com for more info on if they surface or not. There’s currently no information on a release for any of these colorways just yet, but we’ll keep you covered as always. Thanks for tuning in.
