Original Posting (12/01/2019): This past October, Golden State Warriors Center, Kevon Looney, inked an endorsement deal with overseas sportswear retailer, ANTA. Playing a pivotal role in Golden State’s historic championship run these past few years, Looney earned himself a three year, fifteen million dollar deal to further his tenure with the franchise. Now at the beginning of November, Looney is officially an ANTA endorsed athlete, and has debuted Klay Thompson’s ANTA KT 5 on the hardwood.

The high cut rendition of the ANTA KT 5 brought in supreme performance on the hardwood, all for a competitive price point. We now take a look at the low top version of the shoes, which removes the shroud that was featured on the highs, and provides a much more streamlined look.

The ANTA KT 5 Low arrives with the same tooling as its high-top model, full-length A Flash Foam, and a multi-directional web traction pattern for the outsole. The upper is where things changed quite a bit. The collar is cut super low to the ankle, and maintains a sock-like structure for compression around the ankle. Materials include a full knitted upper, with a standard lacing enclosure through cables stitched to the upper. Completing the shoe is the same foam heel counter as its high top model.

Let us know your thoughts on the ANTA KT 5 Low in the comments below, and keep it locked here as release details arrive. The KT 5 just made their official retail debut only at the beginning of the Fall, so we shouldn’t expect a release until at least December or the new year.

UPDATE (04/15/2020): After surfacing at the beginning of December 2019, the ANTA KT5 Low is now available for purchase at Anktshop.com and FamujiSneaker.com, a retailer of ANTA footwear. They are available in three respective colorways, ‘Bahamas’, ‘Dragon Fruit’, and ‘So Klay’ colorways. Stay tuned as more colorways become available in the future.

UPDATE (12/10/2019): Kevon Looney and Jacob Evans of the Golden State Warriors debut new colorways of the ANTA KT 5 Low.
