Giannis Antetokounmpo’s second signature shoe will be releasing this Saturday, July 25th, for $120 USD, and just ahead of the release, I have my Nike Zoom Freak 2 Detailed Look & Review to share with you.
The Zoom Freak 2 arrives with a Phylon foam midsole encasing a forefoot Zoom Air bag, which rides atop an outsole that features a multi-directional nub forefoot tread, along with a storytelling pattern for the heel. The build sports a tightly woven jacquard material, paired with a forefoot mudguard fuse overlay for added durability, two molded TPU plates placed at the forefoot to ensure the wearer’s foot stays locked into the footbed, as well as an external outrigger to provide sufficient lateral stability. A standard lacing enclosure and internal TPU midfoot plate that provides torsional rigidity completes the shoe.
Please note the following video is a FIRST IMPRESSIONS based “review” and not a “performance review”. A performance review is my in-depth thoughts of a basketball shoe after playing basketball in them for an extended period of time. My Zoom Freak 2 Performance Review is strictly based off my first impressions of trying on the shoe in stores.
Let us know what you think of the Nike Zoom Freak 2 in the comments below and if you plan on purchasing a pair. I will NOT be purchasing the Zoom Freak 2 to do a performance review on due to the cushioning being very lackluster for my needs in a performance basketball shoe, as well as the outsole not being anywhere near durable enough for both consistent indoor and outdoor basketball use. Keep it locked to the site as more colorways of the Nike Zoom Freak 2 release in the near future.
