Nike is hitting us with a new cushioning setup set to debut soon, the Nike Joyride Run Flyknit. The new Joyride cushioning system is composed of air pockets filled with tiny beads instead of the traditional foam setup. These beads are there for the different strides that occur during running.
The slogan of the Joyride cushioning setup is ‘Thousands of tiny beads working hard, so you won’t have to.” This can be taken literally since these feature thousands of little beads. In fact there are exact measurements as to how many beads are in each pair; US size 10 Men’s has 11,000 beads in each half pair and 9,000 in each half of US size 8 women’s pair.
This technology was in the works for years and is being debuted on the Nike Joyride Run FK, available to Nike+ members today only, July 15th, and then globally on Thursday, August 15.
