With the help of Tinker Hatfield, Nike has unveiled two new silhouettes with their 2019 N7 Collection.
Unveiled earlier this morning is the Nike Zoom Heritage N7 basketball shoe, while the Air Zoom Rock Down N7 aims for off court use.
“I immediately thought, if I’m going to work on a basketball shoe and a multi-purpose shoe, that I would start from scratch and do it with a certain criteria and give it the same energy that I would in designing for a professional athlete,” says Hatfield. “It’s ended up being one of my favorite projects at Nike.” – Tinker Hatfield.
That technical detail for the grassroots-level athlete is embodied in the Nike Zoom Heritage N7. Its felt aesthetic is built for “rez ball,” a style of basketball played in tribal communities and elsewhere, and known for its physicality, fast-paced nature and pressure defense. Moreover, the play connects to a fandom that’s fervent in Native American circles and, in its spirit, encourages participation in the game.
In terms of tech specs within both shoes, we have yet to receive word on what the shoes will arrived equipped with, besides the Zoom Air that is mentioned in both names of the sneakers.
Releasing alongside the the Zoom Heritage N7 and Air Zoom Down Rock N7are special edition Cortez and Air Max 270, with further apparel as well. Expect the full colection to arrive at Nike.com and select stockists this Friday, June 21st. No word on pricing for the shoes quite yet.
