Within the recent releases of the new Under Armour Curry 6 colorways, the Baltimore-born athletic footwear/apparel brand appears to be taking a new radical design direction with leaked images of sample Stephen Curry shoes.
Marketing their most prominent athlete isn’t the difficulty Under Armour tends to have. It appears as if the brand tends to market their athletes just fine, but they’re design direction does not align with the values of their athletes to debut stylish silhouettes, with high-end performance. This is in fact true as most of their shoes have been nothing but mediocrity, such as the re-call of the UA Curry 6 with outsole peeling, while the UA Curry 5, and several team models like the HOVR Havoc Low have been busts, from the lack of feeling and cushion in the HOVR foam, which UA boasts as giving athletes energy return with each step in the shoes. In addition to that, their designs have been short of unique, and mainly utilize cheap synthetics, fuses, and meshes to make up the build of their performance silhouettes.
While previous UA Curry models such as the two, four, and five, were known for their sleek and distinguished look, recently leaked samples reveal UA has opted to continue in the bulky, heavy, and ponderous designs they have tend to gone with in recent releases. It’s a huge shame, as many enjoyed the UA Curry 6, besides the many consumers who experienced the outsole peel off. This leak below boasts similar tooling from the UA SC 3ZER0 II with a Charged Foam midsole, while a jagged pattern makes up the traction upon the sole. Finishing it off is a cheap-looking textile with a basic lace structure, and heel pull tab.
That just about takes care of it. Some have said these are to be samples of the UA Curry 6, but I have further speculation these were samples of the UA SC 3ZER0 II, from the sight of the overall build and tooling of the midsole down. Don’t expect these sneakers to release, but more information on these samples will be posted once it becmoes available.
