Kobe Bryant’s Nike Mamba Rage and Instinct has been his on-court budget-friendly basketball sneakers the last few years. Nike Basketball has finally given us a new build and completely new tooling that its predecessor, featuring a woven upper and drop-in midsole. Now we introduce new colorways of KB’s budget model, the Nike Mamba Focus.
Two new colorways surfaced of Kobe Bryant’s new affordable basketball silhouette to surface. These colorways are actually a significantly nice follow-up to the red ones to surface a few weeks back.
The new sneakers look to come equipped in a black mamba snake-inspired tread, riding atop a full-length Phylon foam midsole, which features a bottom loaded rectangular forefoot zoom air bag, likely measuring in at or around 8 mm thick. Finishing off the shoes is an embossed textile upper, which features literal embossed overlays, inspired by the texture of a snake’s skin. Signature Kobe Bryant branding can be seen in place of the tongue, and heel counter, while an oversized TPU Nike swoosh completes the design, placed upon the midsole for lateral containment and security.
Simple Black/White and White/Gum colorways surface, featuring the same snake-skin embossed upper from initial leaked pairs. Official release details have yet to surface regarding this silhouette, but rumors claim true, that the shoes are set to officially debut in June. Whether or not that’s true, we’ll give you the earliest, official details here, as they come out. Nonetheless, similar to the Kyrie Flytrap 2, expect this model to arrive at overseas retailers earlier than June, retailing at $100 USD. Be sure to let us know your thoughts on Kobe’s new silhouette down below. I’m honestly glad they finally took a new design route, in comparison to the constantly re-used tooling in previous Kobe budget models.
