Gordon Hayward’s ANTA GH1 “Girl’s Artwork” Is Inspired By His Daughters’ Drawings

The final release colorway of the GH1 has a special story beyond basketball.

Gordon Hayward’s first signature shoe with ANTA was a huge success, making it not only The Sneaker Brief’s favorite performance basketball shoe of 2020, but our favorite of all time. Everything from the grippy, durable traction, to the bouncy A Flash Foam midsole, and premium upper materials, is what made the GH1 perform perfect for us. Not only do you receive incredible performance in Hayward’s first low top basketball shoe, but they are also affordably priced as well, making it the best of both worlds: top-tier performance, durability, and affordability.

As the final reveal and colorway of the GH1 series, the ANTA GH1 “Girl’s Artwork” will be releasing exclusively in limited quantities, inspired by Gordon Hayward’s daughters’ artwork. It features the love story of Gordon’s daughter and his wife as you could see the colorway is inspired by his daughter’s artwork in the following video below.

Therefore, ANTA specially designed this colorway of the GH1 for Gordon’s family and decided they will release this special edition package officially on Thursday, August 20th, 2020, which is close to Chinese Valentine’s Day (August 25th). “The Qixi Festival, also known as the Chinese Valentine’s Day, is a Chinese festival celebrating the annual meeting of the cowherd and weaver girl in mythology”. The idea for the GH1 “Girl’s Artwork” is to express love, gratefulness, and hope to our closet people. Robyn, who is Gordon’s wife, and her girls will give the shoes to Gordon as a Chinese Valentine’s Day gift. In addition, ANTA wants fans to see the happiness and love surrounded by this special edition colorway, so they will be available for purchase as a valentine’s gift for their lovers or keep it in a stash.

As an old saying goes in China: “A daughter is her father’s lover from his past life”. It describes the special bonds between a father and daughter in such a sweet way, so ANTA decided to share this story on the Chinese Valentine’s Day with the GH1 “Girl’s Artwork”.

The shoe’s quantities are limited and each one is carried with a special heart-shaped shoe box. The pattern of upper is the artwork of the girls. It symbolizes the love from daughters/ lovers. You’ll see the word “Daddy is always happy” when opening the box and there are additionally some cute animation stickers inside the box that can velcro onto the tongue of the shoe. The pattern of Baby G is hidden on the bottom as we all know the fourth baby of Gordon will come to world in this month.
