The official debut of the adidas Dame 5 was first reported by us just days ago. Now, we wait for February 1st for the official release of the kicks to adidas.com and select retailers. Here’s an exclusive in-hand look at the adidas Dame 5 ‘Chinese New Year’. No word on a release date for that specific colorway, but the adidas Dame 5 will be releasing in three confirmed colorways on February 1st.
Tech wise, the adidas Dame 5 sports the same 3/4 quarter cut ankle collar, for a mid-top silhouette. A new dual tone construction is here with textiles/knits featured in the forefoot, while synthetics cover up the rear of the shoes. A lateral midfoot “banking barrier”, or in simpler terms, a rubberized midfoot stabilizer is put into place to provide hoopers with lateral coverage when doing cuts on the court. A full-length Bounce midsole, and thick-grooved, and multi-directional herringbone outsole finishes off the shoes.
The newest colorway to leak on the internet is the adidas Dame 5 ‘Chinese New Year’ colorway. Very clearly from the name, this colorway pays homage and takes cues from the Chinese New Year in February to make up the colorway. Unlike other colorways, the Chinese New Year colorway looks to arrive with a totally new build. Arriving in a full bright red leather upper, black sockliner & laces, and a graphic midsole/banking barrier, this colorway is definitely an eye-catcher for sure. Finishing off the colorway is a bright red outsole.
No word on a confirmed stateside release date quite yet, but be sure to follow up with the site as more official details come underway, and you’ll see it here first. Do you dig the adidas Dame 5?
