In late April of 2019, the SONIC: The Hedgehog movie—which was originally slated for a Fall 2019 debut—was criticized for the character’s depiction, and not matching the look of the character we all know and love in the video game. Now, Paramount Pictures has released their latest trailer for the movie—correcting the look of Sonic, to make it look like its original video game character—after director Jeff Fowler revealed he’d make the character just right for us fans. Ahead of the release of the movie on Friday, February 14th, 2020, we have our first look at the newly surfaced Sonic the Hedgehog x adidas Dame 6.
We’ve already seen adidas collaborate with Marvel during the Spring of 2019 for a special collection of shoes during the release of the Avengers: Endgame movie, as well as most recently with Star Wars. Damian Lillard’s adidas Dame 6 is the newest shoe to release in the adidas Hoops signature line, and will be getting its very own Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration.
This new offering of the adidas Dame 6 looks to arrive paying homage to Sonic’s character, as well as yellow Super Sonic, which was the super form of Sonic from the video game Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The shoe features Blue, Yellow, Red, and White accents, while a graphic of the actual Sonic character is imprinted onto the medial and lateral Lightstrike foam midsole heel. Completing the look is a two-toned Blue and Red upper, and outsole.
Let us know what you think of the Sonic the Hedgehog x adidas Dame 6 in the comments below. The shoe is rumored to release in June of 2020, but keep it locked here as release updates arrive as official photos of the shoe have already surfaced, so we could be seeing a release sooner, rather than later.
