First Look at the Nike Kyrie 7

First Look at the Nike Kyrie 7.

Kyrie Irving will be continuing his long-standing tenure with the Swoosh with his upcoming seventh signature shoe—the Nike Kyrie 7.

The Kyrie 7 silhouette arrives very reminiscent of previous Kyrie Irving signature models. The tooling appears it will utilize the same set-up as the 5 and 6: a Phylon foam midsole, encasing a forefoot Zoom Air turbo bag, along with a curved outsole. However, the jagged “teeth” sole wrap-up design is back at the forefoot, which is something we haven’t seen since the 4. The build continues the line’s trend of budget materials at a premium price point. The upper looks to utilize a TPU coated mesh, which is just a different variation of the “textile” and “mesh” materials we’ve received on previous Kyrie models. The mid-cut ankle collar is also featured, but instead of a midfoot strap featured on the 6, and the Flytrap lockdown wing from the 5, this time around we have two TPU lockdown wings that extend into the upper at the midfoot.

  1. I don’t like Kyries anymore since they started making the midsole less flexible. For whatever reason, the last two had a very stiff forefoot. Its dissapointing after the 4 had such a nice transition.

On another note, these are hideous. Those ugly plastic clips look like they were just stitched into the upper.
