After shaking up the world in the Summer of 2012 by departing from Jordan Brand for Chinese sportswear brand, Li-Ning, D Wade is now officially a life-time member of the overseas brand, and we have your first look at his eighth signature shoe, the Li-Ning Way of Wade 8.
Sporting a totally new aesthetic in comparison to Wade’s predecessor models, the Li-Ning Way of Wade 8 introduces a new lacing system with dual circular knob as mechanisms to tighten the shoes, and a midfoot strap, something that was featured last on the WOW 6.
Li-Ning declined to create their own iteration of Nike’s FastFit or Adapt technology, and instead opted to use their own lacing system which incorporates lockdown by wires throughout the upper hich are connected to a turning knob for lockdown. Two sets of the new knob-like lacing system are used at the heel ankle collar, and another at the midfoot, being directly parallel to each other.
Aside from the lacing, the Way of Wade 8 arrives equipped with a knitted upper, synthetic heel quarter panel, midfoot strap, two pull tabs, a foam midsole, and caging on the lateral sole.
