The adidas Streetball was originally a classic basketball shoe released in the early 90s is making its next return, after retroing in 2014 in the off-court driven, adidas Originals form.

For those wondering, no, these are not basketball shoes. As seen, the adidas Originals logo (which hints off-court use) is stamped onto the insole. While these may bring full premium raw materials into play, and modern day cushioning, they are still not aimed to be worn on the hardwood.

The adidas Streetball looks to utilize a modified herringbone outsole, with pods of standard herringbone at the heel and forefoot, while big “tire-like” treads make up the majority of the outsole. A full-length tooling of Lightstrike foam makes up the cushioning, while unique translucent rubber caging wraps up around the foam and part of the upper to stabilize the heel and midfoot laterally.

A mix of different raw material blends for the upper is intact. A panel of likely perforated synthetic leather makes up the forefoot, while a nubuck clip wraps up the forefoot to stabilize the Lightstrike foam. Additional paneling of suede can be seen at the heel and eye stay area, while a ripstop material makes up the majority of the midfoot. Finishing off the shoe is an internal bootie and very, very puffy 90s tongue.

No word on a release date for these quite yet, but keep it locked here for updates on the upcoming adidas Streetball. Let us know your thoughts on these in the comments.
