First Look at the adidas D Rose 12

First Look at the rumored adidas D Rose 12.

Derrick Rose’s signature line with adidas has been nothing short of a disappointment the past few years. While Rose hasn’t been the same since his injuries, he still remains as one of the most well respected and talented players in the NBA. However, adidas seems to have completely given up on the Rose signature basketball shoe line after the D Rose 7 model. After downgrading from Boost to Bounce in the D Rose 9, then another downgrade to Lightstrike in the 11, the D Rose 12 doesn’t look very promising.

While it is not confirmed, we now have what is rumored to be the first look at Derrick Rose’s twelfth signature shoe with the Three Stripes—the adidas D Rose 12. Straight from the get-go, the D Rose 12 appears to be very reminiscent to the D Rose 4. While the collar heights and rear design are vastly different from another in both shoes, the tooling is strikingly similar. The multi-directional outsole of the 12 is essentially the same as the 4, but with the flex grooves in different places. The cushioning has to be unveiled, but it will likely be Bounce or Lightstrike due to how much adidas has downgrade Rose’s line the past few years. The build isn’t anything to write home about, with what appears to be a cheap textile mesh upper with synthetic overlays.

  1. Im actually looking forward to this, because i had the adidas crazyquick, and i loved the super flexible outsole. the court feel and bite were great. however, the cushion on the crazyquick was pretty bad, so if this is anything but normal foam it should be an improvement. hopefully its bounce instead of lightstrike. fair warning, though, the crazyquick outsole wasnt very durable, and this doesnt seem durable either.
