Dear Kobe Bryant,
Thank you. Thank you for being the best and the only Kobe Bryant there ever will be. Thank you for being a hard worker, and showing the world there truly are no limits of how hard one can work to achieve their goals. Thank you for your commitment to the game of basketball. Thank you to the friendships you’ve built in and outside of the NBA. Thank you for changing the game of basketball. Thank you for your distinctive approach to basketball and everything outside of the game—from your Nike footwear to your post-retirement ventures. Thank you for changing the aspect of the game after your retirement.
Kobe Bryant, you will ALWAYS be remembered for not just what you did on the basketball court, but for everything you accomplished in your entire, short-lived, 41 year old life. The death of you and your daughter, Gianna, reverbates well beyond sports.
Your 20 years with the Los Angeles Lakers, 18 All Star appearances, 2 scoring titles, 5 NBA championships, 15 All-NBA selections, 12 All-Defensive selections, 1996-97 All-Rookie Team selection, 4 All Star Game MVPs, 2 Final MVPs, 1 regular season MVP, and 2 Olympic gold medals, are such a small piece to the man you have become on and off the basketball court.
Kobe Bean Bryant, your legacy will not go unremembered. You will forever be cherished among sports and non sports fans. Regardless of whether someone watched sports or not, everybody knows and will always know who Kobe Bryant was and still is.
Rest in peace, Mr. Bryant.
One on One Testers, and all of your fans.
