Converse has signed three time NBA champion and Defensive Player of the Year, Draymond Green, to a shoe deal, as reported by ESPN Senior NBA Insider, Adrian Wojnarowski.
Green, a three time NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors, one time Defensive Player of the Year winner, three time All Star, and five time All-Defensive Team selectionist, joins the likes of Phoenix Suns’ forward Kelly Oubre Jr. with Converse. Green has posted career averages of 9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5 assists per game, on 43.5% from the field, and 31.9% from three. While his stats may not seem worthy of multiple All Star appearances, he does much more than what showed up in the box score during the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty era. In fact, he adds a certain championship pedigree to a Converse brand that only re-entered the basketball shoe market in 2019. Details regarding the longevity of the deal, and other perks have not been disclosed as of yet.
