Before Kevin Durant’s 2019 NBA Playoff experience was put to an end due to a ruptured achilles tendon, he had been rocking his Don C x Nike KD 12 colorways in game. When it was reported Don C had been working with Kevin Durant and the Nike Basketball team on KD’s twelfth signature shoe, the anticipation went through the roof. Unfortunately we were only able to see Durant debut one colorway of the four Don C x Nike KD 12 colorways on the court due to his season-ending injury. Now we have a look at all four colorways of this special collaboration.
The first colorway is the only one we saw Durant wear on the court during the Playoffs. It’s inspired by basketball movies, Above The Rim, and White Men Can’t Jump. The font at the heel stating “KD” pays homage to Above The Rim’s logo. The color pallete The Black, White, and Pink color scheme it directly inspired by Wesley Snipes’ faded cycling hat in White Men Can’t Jump. The further three colorways likely are inspired by Durant’s childhood, most fond memories growing up, and the championship mentality of the NBA Finals.
Let us know what you think of all four Don C x Nike KD 12 colorways in the comments below. Stay tuned as a Don C x Nike KD 12 ‘NBA ASG 2020’ colorway will be releasing in February.
