Just when you thought your ‘Performance shoes of the year’ list and/or your sneaker rotation were safe, three stripes decides to make things a little interesting by dropping some heat on the industry right before year’s end.
Out of the 3 new releases (N3XT L3V3L, Marquee Boost and Pro Vision) dropping at the beginning of the month, my personal favorite is the Marquee Boost. Reason being is the combination of both design cues from the past and modern day materials and technology. It reminds me of the engraving on Tom Cruise’s sword in The Last Samurai that read, “I belong to the warrior, in who the old ways have joined the new.”
The upper reminds me of the adidas Top 10, but it also has a TS Creator vibe to it. The upper looks like it is comprised of multiple layers, a majority of which is a knitted upper. The padding around the ankle collar looks super comfortable. The midsole contains full length Boost which should make for an ultra cushioned ride.
Finally, the outsole is made up of an aggressive herringbone pattern in order to keep up with today’s fast paced game. As you can see, adidas is offering multiple colorways of both the mid and low top versions of the Marquee Boost which should cater to all types of players. The Marquee Boost will release on December 1st on adidas.com and select adidas retailers. The mid top version is priced at $130 and the low top comes in at $120.
